Last month, Flannery hosted the ‘Skills Open Day’ at our Operator Skills Hub in Birmingham. The event aimed to present exciting job opportunities for thirteen Level 1 Construction students from Bucks College Group and to help them with their career next steps.

During this visit, the students also had the opportunity to try first-hand our state-of-art simulators and to have a go on the mini excavator with expert guidance from Flannery plant trainers.

Paul Skitt, Flannery Skills Development Director, said: “Enabling local people to gain the practical skills is crucial and we are keen to provide a consistent, quality training and job experience to attract more talents into the construction industry.”

Marina Jackson, Bucks Skills Hub Skills Manager, commented: “This insightful and interactive visit to a construction-based workplace gave students the chance to explore a variety of careers in the construction industry and is very much in line with the Governmental Career Strategy where strong partnerships between employers and education are vital to inspire and inform young people about different careers and develop their work-ready skills.”
