Health and safety first is an approach that everyone at Flannery Plant Hire is expected to take, across every part of the business.

Delivering the very best training via our CPCS Plant Trainers and adopting the latest safety innovations supports our zero harm ambition. As a hirer Flannery has developed and continues to drive a health and safety first culture. Part of this is our internally developed OperateSAFE campaign.

OperateSAFE

OperateSAFE is a multifaceted campaign, with a strong emphasis on open communication it focuses on five key behaviours and ten rules.

Speak Up & Stop Work

The first element of the OperateSAFE campaign is the card. Issued to all employees this empowers anyone to challenge unsafe practice and stop the job.

Observation Cards

Physical cards are supplied and available at all locations and our health and safety team carryout regular “Have your say” sessions. We have also launched an online observation card which allow anyone to share ideas for improvement, highlight best practise  or support a colleague.

Toolbox Talks

We continue to develop remote toolbox talks, training videos and safety bulletins. The Plant Trainer Team also spend time onsite and are a great resource for health and safety training and communication.

OperateSAFE Ten Rules

In October 2020 Flannery launched ten key safety rules, this infographic can now be found across our depot network and is being communicated via video and Toolbox talk sessions.
