There aren’t many feelings that beat being part of a winning team…
We’re proud to say that the Operator Skills Hub, run in partnership with Flannery and Balfour Beatty, has won the Construction News Training Excellence Award.
The purpose-built outdoor training area, based in Birmingham, is designed by a dedicated training team to ensure machine training is carried out in a safe but realistic format. There is also a simulator zone with four consoles, provided by Tenstar, a leading supplier of construction training simulators. These provide an alternative for machine training in a low-pressure environment, eliminating any safety risks in a sustainable manner.
Major projects around the UK are starting to realise their digital ambitions, so equipping operators with the tools and training they need to support digitally-enabled construction sites is crucial. With the support of other industry leaders, such as CAT, Leica and Trimble, a new generation of semi-autonomous machinery is now available at the Operator Skills Hub.
We’re proud to be a part of this win, but we’re even more proud of what the Operator Skills Hub will achieve for the construction industry with it’s a state-of-the-art facility whose team is dedicated to supporting and training apprentices, qualified operators and managers in a safe environment that we’re really excited about.
