Last Thursday (September 17th) we attended the CPAs annual Stars of the Future Awards, held online this year in light of the current restrictions. A really important date for the industry and for us, these awards provide a fantastic opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication shown by apprentices across the construction sector.
We were extremely proud to sponsor a brand-new category celebrating apprentice Hire Controllers and even prouder that we had six nominees across two categories. Michael Phillips, Samantha Whitehead, Keiran Andrew, Jack Meacey and Danielle Taylor, nominated for the Plant Operative award and Iveta Tomasevska for Hire Controller of the year. It is important to say well done to all the nominees whose award submissions included some fantastic feedback from clients and peers, as a company we are very proud of you.
A huge congratulations to Danielle Taylor who was awarded Plant Operative of the year, in a hugely competitive field. This is the second year running that a Flannery apprentice operator has won in the Plant Operative category, a testament to the hard work and dedication our apprentices show onsite.
Following the announcement of Danielle’s success came the second Flannery winner, Iveta Tomasevska, the first recipient of the Hire Controller Award. Based in Wembley Iveta’s passion came shining through on her personal statement, congratulations to Iveta. We should also mention the effort of our training team whose support of our apprentices is absolutely invaluable. Sophie Francis and her team continue to advocate excellent training standards and drive the very best outcome for Flannery apprentices at the start of their careers. Thank you, Sophie, Roberta, Polly, Bhanu, Jacqui and our plant trainers.
