Training and focusing on operator skills is really important to the team here at Flannery. We are feeling particularly proud that Director, Paul Allman has been announced as one of two new Employer Trustees for NOCN Job Cards.

Our operators will be familiar with NOCN Job Cards who provide “End Point Assessment” which create opportunities to help people into employment and reassure employers that holders have the relevant knowledge and skills to do a good job. In 2019, NOCN Job Cards acquired the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) the leading skills certification scheme for plant within the UK construction industry.

As charity, NOCN Job Cards is governed by a board of trustees, who play a vital role in the supporting, managing and running the organisation in line with its vision and values.
Drawing on a vast bank of construction plant and civil engineering experience and skills, the trustees have ultimate control to ensure aims and objectives are achieved and that the charity acts within the law and manages resource properly. Trustees make the vital decisions which build the NOCN brand, to advance personal outcomes, improve the flow of talent to the construction industry and boost the national economy.

Alongside Paul, we must also congratulate Tim Brownbridge, Academy Manager from BAM Nuttall Limited who has also been appointed.

Paul has worked in the plant hire sector for over 25 years, with over 15 years in a senior management role where he has been directly responsible for managing teams delivering plant hire solutions to major projects and clients throughout the UK.

This has included the development of an industry leading training facility, actively promoting the development of machine control technology, working with colleges and schools to promote the construction sector as an employment opportunity and recruiting and training a significant number of plant operator apprentices and new entrants into the sector.

Paul is also a council member of the Construction Plant Hire Association.
