We are delighted to announce that we were awarded the Technology Innovation of the Year Award (Non–Contractor) for the Human Detection System in collaboration with Spillard Safety Systems.
The inspirational winners of the 2023 Construction News Specialists Awards were crowned in front of the industry on the 7th of September 2023, at the Hilton London Metropole. Celebrating its 19th year, the Construction News Specialist Awards brought together more than 500 of the UK’s leading specialist contractors for an evening of celebration, recognition, and networking.
Here’s what the judges had to say:
“The problem of reduced visibility from construction equipment was very well defined and the way that the entrants integrated advanced human detection systems with visual and audible alarms is truly innovative and will save lives.
The judges were impressed by the way that Spillard and Flannery have worked together on this system, demonstrating teamwork and collaboration in developing a concept into a deployable solution.”
Human Detection System
Flannery and Spillard have been working together to identify opportunities that will drive better safety measures on construction sites across the UK, especially those using plant. This new system uses ‘Spillard Live’, an intuitive cloud-based platform that captures and streams real time video and analytics simultaneously from multiple cameras fitted plant equipment. The Spillard camera system automatically records and saves footage from any encroachment into the dedicated ‘red zone’ from ten seconds before to ten seconds after an incident.
