Championing Industry Standards

Flannery Plant Hire is delighted to announce that our Transport Director, John Moran, has been appointed as the new Chair of the FORS Governance & Standards Advisory Group (GSAG). This prestigious appointment follows an open call for applications and a rigorous selection process, and we are confident that John will bring strong leadership, passion and expertise to this vital role.

FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection for transport operators. As Chair of GSAG, John will play a key role in shaping and overseeing the FORS Standard, ensuring that it remains a benchmark for excellence in the transport industry.

At the core of GSAG’s mission is the commitment to developing the FORS Standard, maintaining the governance of the scheme, and ensuring its continued relevance to the industry, the wider public and emerging markets. John is determined to make certain that every member of GSAG has a voice, is fully engaged, and is comfortable in putting forward questions and ideas that will enhance the scheme for all stakeholders.

John Moran’s Vision for GSAG

On accepting the position, John shared his thoughts on the importance of this role and the continued evolution of FORS:

“I am honoured to accept the role of Chairperson for the FORS Governance and Standards Advisory Group. Following on from the high standards set by my predecessor, I intend to continue this important work to the same exceptional standard.

GSAG plays a crucial role in developing the FORS Standard, overseeing the scheme’s governance, and ensuring its ongoing relevance for our members, the wider industry and the public we serve. FORS is more relevant now than ever, as we continue working towards improving standards, enhancing road safety, protecting the environment and expanding into new and existing markets.

FORS is recognised as an established mark of quality, and as such, remains an essential component in enabling all types of transport users to select the very best.”

Flannery’s Commitment to Safety and Best Practice

At Flannery Plant Hire, we are immensely proud of John’s appointment and the positive impact he will have in his new role. As a business, we are fully committed to upholding the highest safety standards and best practices across the transport and construction sectors. We look forward to seeing John’s leadership at GSAG and the continued evolution of FORS in the years to come.
