Flannery Plant Hire: Supporting Sustainable Employment through Training and Opportunity.

At Flannery Plant Hire, we are incredibly proud to share the inspiring story of Martin Coffey, one of our recent success stories who has made a remarkable transition from life at HMP Winson Green to securing a rewarding career as a plant operator. Martin’s journey is a testament to the power of determination, hard work, and the right support.

Martin recently completed the Skills Bootcamp in Plant Operations at our Operator Skills Hub, equipping him with the technical expertise required for his new role. After finishing the bootcamp, Martin was offered an exciting opportunity to work with Skanska on the M42 Junction 6 project, where he now operates a 15-tonne 360 excavator!

Throughout his time with us, Martin has not only honed his skills in operating plant machinery but also completed key certifications such as Lifting Operations, GPS training, and the Highway Passport, building upon his previous industry experience. His success has drawn positive feedback from the project team, who have praised his dedication and performance on site.

Our Skills Bootcamp in Plant Operations offers free training, including soft skills development and careers guidance, all culminating in a guaranteed interview. Martin’s story is proof that this initiative is an effective pathway to employment and opportunity, especially for individuals seeking a fresh start.

We are extremely proud of Martin’s achievements and are excited to see his future unfold in this new chapter of his life. His resilience and commitment to turning things around serve as an inspiring reminder of the life-changing potential of second chances.

At Flannery, we are committed to creating sustainable employment opportunities for marginalised communities by partnering with our clients and supply chain. Martin’s success story is just one example of this ongoing commitment, and we look forward to sharing more of these impactful stories in the future.

Congratulations to Martin! We wish him continued success in his role and beyond.
