Flannery are proud to announce that, together with Spillard Safety Systems and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, we’ve been awarded the Best Use of Technology Award at the 2023 Construction News Awards.
We have been supporting the Spillard team in developing their AI Camera-Powered Human Detection system. Put simply, the new technology provides real time data to operators, and plant and fleet managers with regard to operational safety and driver behaviour, including video verification of each incident alert.
Originally developed for heavy goods vehicles to detect vulnerable road users, 15,000 hours of testing and 150,000 miles of road testing were carried out prior to it being fitted to construction equipment in the 18 months leading up to its launch in June 2022.
Spillard has been working with Flannery on their machine safety systems for 15 years and this most recent partnership has been of huge value to both organisations. Unless the technology is actually on a machine it can’t be truly tested, or the data captured and measured. Getting live results by working on projects with us has accelerated the system’s development, making it appropriate to the safety needs of our construction clients and the wider industry.
